JACCOL

Privacy

What JACCOL collects, and who processes it.

JACCOL has no user accounts, no newsletter and no advertising. Two things on the site do handle personal data.

Visitor statistics

The site uses Statcounter to count visits. Statcounter records the pages viewed, the referring page, the browser and device type, an approximate location and the IP address, and sets a cookie to tell new visits from returning ones. The figures are used only to see which parts of the site are read. Statcounter’s own privacy policy applies to the data it holds.

Blocking cookies or using a content blocker stops the counter without affecting the site.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, it sends your name (if given), your email address, the topic and your message to the site’s owner by email. They are used only to read and reply to your message, and are not added to any mailing list or shared with anyone else.

The form is handled by Cloudflare, which hosts the site, runs the spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) and delivers the message. The message is then held in the owner’s email account. Ask through the same form if you would like a message you sent to be deleted.

Hosting

Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the IP address of every request in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
